ISLANDS IN FLUX 📚by Pankaj Sekhsaria | BOOK REVIEW

"It brings you up-to-date with the Islands in last decades , an important part of India , that is unique and one we know very little about. While I might make the claim that it is an important compilation on the recent history of the islands. " - Pankaj Sekhsaria , Islands in Flux

My Musings :
The title "ISLANDS IN FLUX" and the premise are exciting enough to give most readers a reason to buy and read the book. Read on to know more about the book and what I think of it.

What to expect? :
It does not matter which category of readers you belong to, beginners or regulars, you would mostly be getting the new things out of this Book.
Expect a book that gives us an overall picture of the Island with threats to environmental and its own Indigenous Peoples.
Finally, expect a book that focuses on giving practical tips and suggestions on reducing this problems and changes to prevent from vulnerable.

Since the book is written in an understand language and a good writing style, it can be picked by any beginner level reader. Especially, whose focus on Islands Bright Future.
The book is much more interesting because we get to know multiple points of views and experiences.

What is the book all about? :
"ISLANDS IN FLUX" tells us just how the system and non-tribal poeples dealing with the Islands, it's Native Peoples and Environment.

Basically it is a compilation of Articles and Academics with the author's own thoughts and researches.Statistically , he drawn many timelines and Data which is very informative and elaborating.

A long years of research and knowledge by the Author compiled in this book. As an Islander, I found out that I really didn’t know anything about these factors , incidents which are part of my own born place.

The islands have a history longer than that of British Settlement, there are indigenous people who have own these since 40,000 years ago.Accidentally, for the sake of our benefits and enjoys we endangered these untouched tribes. They are no more listed on isaolated or untouched tribes. He mainly pointed on how we are dealing our infrangible islands.

He mentioned, how despite the authorities and political party announces the development projects starting with enthusiasts, but unaware of the resultant.Mainly, illuminated various issues pertaining to the islands.

Book divided into chapters which in turn are very easy to navigate through. Complementing his thoughts and narratives are interviews from many other activists from across the islands who are fighting a similar war.

Some Environmentalists and Well-wishers of tribes are still seeking for that ray of hope from our government promised.

About the author :
Pankaj Sekhsaria is a Researcher, Writer, also a member of the environmental action group, Kalpavriksh where he works on issues of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
He has spent several years researching in Andaman and Nicobar Islands mainly focus on Environmental & Tribal related issues.

Is the book interesting to read? :
I think the subject itself (Andaman Nicobar Islands) is so vastly beautiful and diverse that the reader is bound to turn pages after pages just to get a glimpse of what lies ahead in the author’s views and researches.

Let’s talk about the research gone into the book :
Though the book makes use of a lot of statistics, in the end, it is a basic research-oriented book. It is a book meant for beginners. The author also lists some other papers, blogs, and articles that the reader can consult for much detailed information.

Conclusion :
Overall this book is well compiled, Informative and tells us the other side of truth that we are totally unaware of. This compilation aims to educate and inform readers of the history, geology and ecology of the Andaman Nicobar Islands. This book puts a counter narrative to the modern society. The view of seeing my islands changed after reading it. Lastly, this book tells the frighten side of these Islands ands it's native peoples, which left me tremble.

Blind to Palestinians Genocide: How Hypocrisy and WhatsApp Forwards Shape Public Opinion | My Case

Yesterday, one of my school friend (he is a right-winger) posted about why he is not supporting Palestine and all. We started a discussion and his opinion and mine is not matching. He asked me why I'm not raising my voice about the persecution of Hindus in Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Kashmir (I have raised my side and posted whatever I can on social media in many issues) but only about Palestinians. But why is he asking this to me? Am I the Prime Minister, External Affairs Minister or an Indian Government spokesperson? The reason is simple: my pro-Palestine posts, questions about the current government, and their hatred towards of one religion. I do not oppose the BJP, but I do oppose its current ideologies because this communal politics is a threat to my country. Opposing the government does not mean that everyone is an opposition leader; there are some who love the country too. In Palestine case, he is justifying Israel's atrocities and genocide against Palestinians

The Horrors of Beheaded Palestinian🇵🇸 Babies in Rafah

#AllEyesOnRafah   These photos are not enough?? Their charred, headless bodies, held up by a man shouting into the camera, confirmed the horror that had just occurred. Before the viral video spread across the internet and etched itself into our minds, Rafah became the site of one of this genocide’s most horrific massacres. This massacre was not measured by the number of dead but by the brutal images displayed on our phone screens, turning them into virtual morgues. Our phones are now murder sites, showing headless Palestinian babies held by refugees in what were once humanitarian centers, now death camps. Sunday, May 26, 2024, known as the “Rafah Tent Massacre,” will be remembered by those whose voices are often ignored. This massacre demands that we confront the lies and document the gruesome truth. Unlike the unverified claims of beheaded Israeli babies, which were used by politicians and media to justify genocide, the video of beheaded Palestinian babies is undeniable. D
