Memory - The best childhood memories are always in Nani's House...

(This image is not mine, kept to make it more nostalgic)

Great feasts and family gatherings play a part in everyone's Nani's home. But when I really think about my Nani's house only one word comes to my mind: 'Masti'.

"Chutti mein nani ghar jayenge!” – this is one of the most cherished, fondest childhood memories for most of us.
When I was a child, for every summer vacation we use to go to our nani's house ( grandmother's ). At that time we were not having even mobile phones, even we not owns landlines, so it's going to wonderful to meet everyone after so long days.
When we were traveling from our home to our Nani's house, we used to experience a lot.Like, shining paddy fields, angry pigs roaming, men with carries a stick behind cattle, tea and fastfood vendors are busy with works, ...........
My naani had 8 daughters and 3 sons so I have lots of cousins ( we were 15 cousins including me, we are 3 boys only ). We all use to gather at naani's house in first week of summer vacation .

I was second elder boy back than when we were small. We use to play carrom, hide n seek and use to run in whole house and watching TV ( like we're in Cinema Hall) . Our mamas use to run a shop of gifts and stationary. So, in night when they came, everyone's get something Toffees.
All maasis and maa use to gossip ,talk and say funny incidents of theirs, especially their mother-in-law's story. We also get to listen to so many stories about how our mother had been when they were younger. At night we use to lay bedsheets on floor and sleep there.

The word “Nani Ghar” fills me with another vibes, lot of joy and takes me to that wonderful world filled with happiness. The place where we never worried about summer vacation homeworks. The days were full of fun and endless Masti. The real smiles and happiness that happened at that phase of life are now a memory only.
I think most of the people of our generation are having similar childhood memories.
Now all have grown up and are busy in their life .Wish someday we all meet once again at naani's house like that time.  😊

Remembering Zubair Ahmed: a warrior is lost when Islands journalism needs many

Why We Should Remember Zubair Ahmed...?   Today, Sept 23, marks 77 days since Zubair Ahmed leave us.  He left us on 7 July, 22 leaving us groping in darkness when we desperately need the light shone by him. Maybe you know him very closely, but this is not only who was Zubair for me. People have been writing in to say he was one of the island's finest journalists, known for his fair and courageous journalism. Zubair, a senior journalist, left a mark whenever he spoke about environments, culture, and society. He was an experienced, studious, sincere, joyous, and capable journalist. As a historian, a protean writer, and a refined orator, he struggled to be aware of islanders. He retold history through his writings, which makes a generation know history. His down-to-earth living and passion for local stories touched many admirers. His writings about childhood in villages in old as well as young generations. He took them back to their past and walked with them thro...

The Horrors of Beheaded Palestinian🇵🇸 Babies in Rafah

#AllEyesOnRafah   These photos are not enough?? Their charred, headless bodies, held up by a man shouting into the camera, confirmed the horror that had just occurred. Before the viral video spread across the internet and etched itself into our minds, Rafah became the site of one of this genocide’s most horrific massacres. This massacre was not measured by the number of dead but by the brutal images displayed on our phone screens, turning them into virtual morgues. Our phones are now murder sites, showing headless Palestinian babies held by refugees in what were once humanitarian centers, now death camps. Sunday, May 26, 2024, known as the “Rafah Tent Massacre,” will be remembered by those whose voices are often ignored. This massacre demands that we confront the lies and document the gruesome truth. Unlike the unverified claims of beheaded Israeli babies, which were used by politicians and media to justify genocide, the video of beheaded Palestinian babies is undeniabl...
